POD Designs - An exciting way to design (and shop)
As a full-time self-employed graphic designer, I often worry about if I will be making enough in a month to pay my bills, buy all the food I need, and want (like chocolate) as well as experience all that I want to experience. There are pros and cons to owning your own service business and one of the little stressors that crops up is “What happens if I am sick for a week or a month!?” - No income. It has dawned on me that having some passive income to supplement my fluctuating client income, will help contribute to a less-frazzled Cheyney.
Society6 (American) and Redbubble (Australian) are both print-on-demand sites that allow me to upload my designs to a multitude of quality products. How does it work? I upload my design to the site, it is super-imposed across a suite of products, people can browse and shop and once someone purchases one of my designs, the POD site takes care of the rest: Payment handling, production, shipping, customer service, the whole shebang! I get a percentage of each sale but get to focus on what I am good at, design!
Mixing my love of home decor with design. I have put a lot of creative energy towards creating quality designs and patterns that will look great in the home. You will see that my love for fruit mixed with my flat-graphic style is peppered throughout the 100+ designs across both sites. Yes, 100+ designs, needless to say, my creative energy hit a bit of a high when I first found out about this model. Ding-Ding-Ding.
I hate to mention the C-word before November (Not! Sorry, not sorry)…but if you’re looking to ease some Christmas stress, why not take a browse through some of the products below and order so when December hits, you and your pockets are ahead of the game! Click on any of the products below and it will take you to the page to purchase.
Do you have any POD questions? Or would you like to see something specific in one of my shops? Holler at me in the comments. Until next time, Cheyney xxx
